Whatever happened to BBDoc? Is there something similar to it that replaced it?

maxnort - you probably need to look at bbInterface over @ [link] - the chatbox on [link] is more lively

wow; chatbox is dead. anyway; I'm looking to be able to place the slit in a toolbar; or some other way to emulate a drawer from gnome. Oh, yeah; I use bblean; grishka kicks...
any ideas?

to anonymity from 5.20: I've used blackbox on linux and bb4win. bb4win is not blackbox through cygwin; it's a native windows shell; not a linux window manager.

If anyone cares, the first official release of the Cameo shell is posted. The PDE will be up within a few days after that.

Thank you very much. The release client should be up and out soon. We are very glad people have taken interest and like this project.

Hi, I am new to the Idea of Blackbox on windows. How does it work with Cygwin?, Is actually a window manager or does it sit on top of windows, and where can I get it?

Well then, here we are. A new host, a new theme, a new start.

The purpose of this site is to provide a central hub/portal for all bb4win community needs. It is no longer primarily a site for the bb4win package as a distribution in itself. That project has been inactive for some time now as you all have become aware, but that story lends itself to a separate article altogether at some time in the future.

For now, I wish to discuss the future of this site. To mold this site into something the community wants and needs, I am taking all suggestions for all areas of its functionality. You want a different theme, or per-user themes? Let me know. You want an article about a certain thing? Let me know. You have a website you want added to the links? Let me know. You have an idea for a new poll or plugin? Let me know. See the pattern here?

There are three links at the top of the page for submitting news, articles and reviews. I want people to feel free to use all of these so we can build the content of this site into something rich and not just for occasional news updates.

Of immediate concern, however, is with how to run the member management of this site. To the right is a poll that I want everyone to vote on to show how the community wants to run this. For now, member signups are disabled and full anonymous access is allowed to provide for the chatbox, comments to this news post and the poll, until a clear direction is chosen.

I think that's about it for now. More links, etc. will be added in the coming days and weeks as the users of this site provide more ideas and suggestions to work with. Cheers,

NC-17

Waiting Did it just get to that point where nothing else could really be done to it?

I hope NC-17 isn't implying that BB4Win is dead. I've been working - slowly, mind you, really really slowly due to my RL commitments - on a rewrite of v0.0.82 with the latest bugfixes and features added in. I'm thinking maybe it'll be time to release v0.1.0 - after all, we have been waiting ages and it's only one tenth of a version! - assuming I can get permission from NC-17 to join the dev team. I know there are loads of users out there who are eating their livers at the way BB4Win development has stalled. I for one could not stand to let the BB4Win project die when it's so close to perfection. Maybe if we can reverse some of the damage that was done, NC-17's old enthusiasm might re-emerge.
